Last updated: August 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Exodus Media Inc. ("Kava Books," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with kavabooks.com and the Kava Books invoicing service (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Name, email address, business name, mailing address, tax identification number, business logo, and default settings you provide when you create an account or join our waitlist.

Client information. If you use Kava Books to create invoices, you may enter information about your own clients, including their names, email addresses, and mailing addresses. You are responsible for having the right to share that information with us.

Invoice content. Line items, descriptions, amounts, currencies, taxes, notes, due dates, and payment status associated with the invoices you create.

Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our own servers.

Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, invoice view and open events (including timestamps), device and browser type, and approximate location, collected via Google Analytics and our own service logs.

Communications. Messages you send through our contact form, waitlist signup, or support email.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to provide and maintain the Service (including generating invoices and PDFs, tracking invoice views, and sending reminders on your behalf), to communicate with you about your account or support requests, to send marketing communications you can opt out of at any time, to monitor and improve the security and performance of the Service, and to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How we share information

Service providers. We share information with third parties who help us operate the Service, including Cloudflare (hosting), Formspree (form processing), Google Analytics (usage analytics), our email delivery provider, and, once available, a payment processor. Each has its own privacy practices governing the information it processes.

Your clients. When you send or share an invoice, the client information and invoice content on it is visible to whoever you send it to.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kava Books, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If Kava Books is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to records we're required to retain by law.

5. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us. You may opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any such email, and adjust cookie preferences through your browser.

7. Children's privacy

Kava Books is intended for business use by adults and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

8. International data transfers

Our service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States and Canada. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

9. Third-party links and services

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites or services. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this Policy doesn't apply to them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as appropriate.
